Connect your Instagram account
Important
As of December 4, 2024, Instagram discontinued its Basic Display API, which was used to connect personal Instagram accounts to Spotlight and other apps. You can read more about this decision and how it affects Spotlight users here.
The new alternative is to switch your Instagram account to a professional account (Creator or Business) for free, and use the new connection methods provided in Spotlight.
To display Instagram posts on your WordPress site, you need to authorize Spotlight to access the data from your professional Instagram account.
This can be done in a few simple steps depending on the type of connection you require:
Advanced accounts require a Facebook page to be connected to your professional Instagram account. This will give you access to more features in Instagram and Spotlight. Learn more.
Note: Spotlight is approved and verified by Facebook to make use of the Instagram API. This ensures that your connection and your data are always kept secure. Spotlight doesn't store any of your personal data for itself, all posts are solely imported into your database which only you have access to. More details can be in our Privacy Policy.
