Couldn’t Find Any Business Instagram Accounts

Due to recent changes in the Meta (Instagram API), some users may encounter an error message within Spotlight stating, "We couldn’t find any Business Instagram accounts connected to your Facebook account!" when attempting to connect an Instagram Business account. This issue also affects all other plugins that use the Instagram API.

While we’re waiting for a fix from Meta, there is a workaround that you can do to solve this issue. You will need two Facebook profiles to do this; the Facebook page owner and another Facebook profile (this could be your business partner, colleague, or anyone you trust).

Checking Your Facebook Page Access

1. Log in to Facebook, and switch to your Facebook page.

   

2. On the left sidebar, click on Settings.

   

3. From the Settings page, click on New Pages Experience.

   

4. From the New Pages Experience, click on Page Access.

   

Go to the right side of the page and look for the "People with Facebook Access" section. If it's empty, that's why Meta is not allowing you to connect your Business account to Spotlight. Your Facebook profile should be listed here to enable to you to make that connection.

Granting Your Facebook Profile Access

Step 1: Adding a Second Profile

Unfortunately, Facebook will not allow you to add your own profile. However, it will allow you to add other profiles. This second profile can then grant access to your account.

To do this, follow these next steps:

1. Click on the Add New button on the right.

   

2. After clicking the Add New button, a popup will appears. Click Next.

   

3. Type in your colleague’s name in the search field, then select their profile.

   

4. In the next step, please make sure to check the 'Allow this person to have full control' option. This will allow the second person to add you to the 'People with Facebook Access' section. After checking that option, click on the Give Access button.

   

5. For security reasons, Facebook will ask you to type your password before confirming this action. Please enter your Facebook password and click the Confirm button.

   

6. Go back to Settings > New Pages Experience > Page Access, and you will see this:

   

At this point, you need to ask your colleague (the second person) to accept the invitation and complete the following steps.

Step 2: Adding Your Facebook Profile

1. Log in to Facebook, then navigate to Pages.

2. From this page, click Invites on the left sidebar.

   

3. Check the invitation, then click on Accept button.

4. Click on the page, and then click on the Switch button on the left sidebar.

   

5. After switching to the page, navigate to Settings > New Pages Experience > Page Access. You should see your account under People with Facebook Access section. The next step is to add the Facebook Page owner account to this section; click on the Add New button.

   

6. Type in their name, then select their account from the list.

   

7. Please ensure to check the 'Allow this person to have full control' option. Once you've checked that option, click on the Give Access button.

   

8. Enter your password, and then click the Confirm button.

   

Finishing Off

After following all these steps, you should now have two accounts under Settings > New Pages Experience > Page Access.

At this point, you can remove access for the second profile.

You can now connect an Instagram Business account with Spotlight.
