Plugin / Theme Compatibility Issues

Theme incompatibility

In order to test for theme compatibility, please do the following (we strongly recommend doing this on a staging site, not your live website, as it may negatively impact your site when a theme is changed):

  1. Go to Appearance > Themes.
  2. Change the theme to a default one, such as Twenty Twenty.
  3. Go back to where the issue with Spotlight is present and check whether it still persists.
  4. If it does not persist, the issue is theme compatibility, so please contact support for further help and also contact your main theme's support team.
  5. If it does persist, please try one of the other solutions on this page or contact support.

Plugin incompatibility

In order to test for plugin compatibility, please do the following (we strongly recommend doing this on a staging site, not your live website, as it may negatively impact your site when plugins are deactivated):

  1. Go to your Plugins page.
  2. Deactivate all plugins except Spotlight Instagram Feeds.
  3. Go back to where the issue with Spotlight is present and check whether it still persists.
  4. If it does not persist, the issue is plugin compatibility, so please start activating one plugin at a time until the issue re-appears. Once you find the culprit, please contact support to let us know which plugin it is and also contact that 3rd-party plugin's support team.
  5. If it does persist, please try one of the other solutions on this page or contact support.
