How to Remove Spotlight from Your Connected Apps on Instagram

When you connect your Instagram account to Spotlight through your website or using our Access Token Generator, you're creating a connection between Instagram and our app (plugin). This connection is required for Spotlight to have the required permissions to import any media from Instagram.

If Spotlight is deactivated or deleted from your website, or you remove an Instagram account from within Spotlight on your website, that does not remove Spotlight's authorization. To do that, please follow the steps below:

  1. From your computer (not your phone) go to the Instagram website and log in with your username and password for the account in question.
  2. Click on the user icon in the top right of your screen.
  3. Open “Settings” and go to “Apps and Websites”.
  4. You’ll see a list of apps and websites connected to your Instagram account, including Spotlight. Click on “Remove” for Spotlight.

Spotlight's connection to your Instagram account is now completely removed.
